High Park Labyrinth

The High Park Labyrinth was created in 2001 by Sylvia Senensky with a group of dedicated volunteers, as a harmony project with Parks and Recreation and the Labyrinth Community Network. It has been walked by thousands of people over the years and has become a welcome sacred space for many. The High Park Labyrinth is a favorite stop for many nature walkers, especially daycares and day camps during the warmer months, but don’t be scared off by the snow. You will find the path is also tread by many dedicated walkers during the winter months.

It was re-painted again by Sylvia and her team in 2004 and you will see some pictures here. In 2008, I was walking it and it was fading away. I could find no one responsible for it, as Sylvia had moved by then to B.C., With permission from Parks & Rec. I took on the task of giving it a loving re-painting and was joined by Gloria Worth and Susan Rapley Brooks and the joy of many children who walked as we worked. One little boy said it was more fun than his Nintendo DS!
