We sing for fun, to become performers, when we gather and bond, in joy or in grief. Does singing make you feel better? Are their health benefits? YES!! You can sing for your life!

Singing feeds your body, your mind and your spirit. Singing has many benefits for our physical body. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure. It can boost your immune system, specifically raising levels of hydrocortisone and immunoglobin levels in our body.

Lifting our voice makes us an active pariticipant in the audible life stream. It is a different act to listen to the sound current then to add to it. Physically as our lungs expand, our spirits lift. Songs join hearts, while working, while playing, while celebrating. This can been seen throughout history in national anthems and devotional chanting. Singing also influences our brain waves and neuro pathways, improving memory and promoting learning. Studies have shown singing to be greatly beneficial with alzhiemers patients.

More obviously, singing along with your favourite song, or chanting strenthens your breathing and improves your sense of rhythm. Singing also motivates, empowers and offers comfort and calm (a lullaby, a soul song, a prayer). There are many ways to offer your unique song to the world, or to just sing for your own health. Singing in a micro-climate is one of the most unique and yet ancient ways to do this. In this way, we are going back to our ancient roots when our ancestors gathered in caves and created song and ritual.

What is a micro-climate?

A micro-climate is a space in which the atmosphere is created and maintained. This is quite often done in museums for achival displays or in zoos for animal habitats. A perfect example of a natural micro-climate is a salt cave, used since the 16th century for it ‘s curative properties. Salt caves have been well known and used for their therapeutic results in many countries including, Austria (Solzbad-Salzeman), Rumania (Sieged), Poland (Wieliczka), Azerbaijan (Nakhichevan), Kirgizia (Chon-Tous), the Ukraine: Solotvino, (Carpathians); Artiomovsk (Donietsk region).

In more modern times, the concept and technology of the salt cave micro-climate has been adapted and re-created to fit our more modern lifestyle and now, instead of flying and driving into remote regions to garner the benefits of speleotherapy (salt cave therapy), it is within driving distance.

Why sing in a salt cave micro-climate?

Have you suffered from one of those lingering coughs that just won’t go away, long after the cold has passed? Do you find yourself irritated by the air quality? Where, these days will you find a space that isn’t polluted?

•   A salt cave offers an entirely silent micro climate. You are surrounded by a wall of rock salt crystal. There is no sound pollution, no traffic, no background ambient sound. The only sound you hear is the saline fountain and the soft ambient music that is being filtered into the space and your own sound.

•   A salt cave offers a comfotrable temperature and humidity of bacteria free, allergen free air, saturated with negative ions created by connective diffusion frum the salt walls.

•  A salt cave offers a sacred space. Singing in this space is both a treasure and a gift for your health and your soul.
